Specific details about the upgrade process
Once you have installed the latest CollectorsMD setup file the following files are installed:
Location of the CollectorsMD
program files:
c:\DataFlow\Cd
Files in this folder:
- cd_dbk.mdb - blank data file
- cd_int.mdb - export file that contains data for a website / intranet
- cd_merge.mdb - merging with data for creating reports
- cd_p.accde - main program file to access the CollectorsMD
- cd_p.bmp - 'splash' image
- lflow.ico - product icon file
- readme.ico - icon file
- readme.txt - copyright and other details
- shared_d.mdb - security file
- thesg_dbk.mdb - blank thesaurus file
You will also see a file called
cd_p.mde which is the previous version main program file to access the CollectorsMD. Preferably leave this file in place until the upgrade process is complete.
Upgrade process
- Check you have the necessary files installed to run the CollectorsMD such as Runtime Access 2010. Also check the system requirements - see links below for full details.
- Make a backup of your data files and images - normally:
- cd_d.mdb - main CollectorsMD data file in the c:\DataFlow folder unless networked.
- thesg_d.mdb - Thesaurus data file in the c:\DataFlow folder unless networked.
- Compress / zip the data files and send to Logos Flow. We will upgrade the data files and keep an archived copy.
- Install the CollectorsMD latest version from the setup file supplied.
- Once the installation is sucessful Logos Flow will supply the upgraded data files.
- Upgrade process is then complete.
Roll-back
If there is a problem with the installation and you need to revert back to the previous version then open the
cd_p.mde file. If the upgraded data files have been supplied then we will need to send the archived copies.
